AFTC Structural Glazing
Tape is a closed cell, double-sided acrylic foam tape capable of developing a
very high-strength viscoelastic bond when applied to glass and metal framework. It provides
long term holding power making it an alternative to silicone in structurally
glazed window units and curtain wall systems.AFTC tapes offer significant benefits to curtain
wall/cladding manufacturers and installers compared with wet-glazed silicone
systems.
Tape-based bonding offers clean, consistent application and eliminates pump systems and waste associated with silicone structural glazing.
Facilitates zero site line glazing with minimal waste.
Glazed units can be moved immediately, improving productivity and eliminating the need for warehouse space required for curing units glazed with silicone.
AFTC Certified design meets or exceeds AAMA standards for structural glazing. Warranty available (please inquire about specific requirements).
An H-O Technical Representative will review each
AFTC Structural Glazing Tape application with the customer on a
project-specific basis. AFTC will conduct an adhesion test using
customer-supplied components to determine tape width and surface preparation required.
Once product design and assembly process have been approved by AFTC, an
application warranty is available. Project-specific application guidelines will
be provided to the customer and must be followed during the assembly process.. Request technical assistance above or call 860-379-9875.
