Wonder Pads
Wonder Pads are the material of choice when component separation, vibration-damping dunnage, and protective packaging require pre-cut cushioning pads that can be deployed without fabrication time at the point of assembly, kitting, or shipping. Cork and foam pad constructions address different functional requirements — cork for vibration damping and component separation in precision assemblies, polyethylene foam for lightweight impact protection in shipping kits. H-O Products carries Wonder Pads in pre-cut cork and PE foam configurations across a range of sizes, and converts them to customer specification.
Cork Wonder Pads
Cork Wonder Pads are two-component laminated pads constructed with plain cork on Side 1 (offered in 1/8", 3/16", and 1/4" thicknesses) and a static-cling polyvinyl chloride (PVC) foam on Side 2. The PVC foam adheres to non-porous surfaces such as glass and mirror without any adhesive — providing residue-free, removable, and repositionable protection for shipping and storage of fragile non-porous goods. Cork side: ≥242 kPa tensile strength, ≥75% recovery at 100 PSI per ISO 7322. PVC foam side: 12 oz/in minimum cling adhesion to both stainless steel and cork.
Key Properties
- Side 1 Material: Plain Cork (1/8", 3/16", 1/4" thicknesses)
- Side 2 Material: PVC Foam (static-cling, adhesive-free)
- PVC Foam Cling Adhesion (Cork & Stainless Steel): 12 oz/in minimum
- Cork Tensile Strength: ≥242 kPa (ISO 7322)
- Cork Recovery @ 100 PSI: ≥75% (ISO 7322)
- Cork Specific Weight: ≥160 kg/m³ (ISO 7322)
2# Foam Wonder Pads
2# Foam Wonder Pads are two-component laminated pads constructed with a 1/4" thick 2 PCF (pounds per cubic foot) crosslinked polyethylene foam on Side 1 and a static-cling polyvinyl chloride (PVC) foam on Side 2. The PVC foam adheres to non-porous surfaces such as glass and mirror without any adhesive — providing residue-free, removable, and repositionable protection for shipping and storage of fragile non-porous goods. PE foam side: Shore 00 hardness 51, 5 lb/sq-in compression deflection at 25%, 69 lb/sq-in tensile strength (machine direction), and Excellent chemical resistance.
Key Properties
- Side 1 Material: 2 PCF Crosslinked Polyethylene Foam (1/4" thick)
- Side 2 Material: PVC Foam (static-cling, adhesive-free)
- PVC Foam Cling Adhesion (Cork & Stainless Steel): 12 oz/in minimum
- PE Foam Compression Deflection @ 25%: 5 lb/sq-in (ASTM D3575)
- PE Foam Tensile Strength (MD): 69 lb/sq-in (ASTM D3575)
- PE Foam Chemical Resistance: Excellent
4# Foam Wonder Pads
4# Foam Wonder Pads are two-component laminated pads constructed with a 4 PCF (pounds per cubic foot) crosslinked polyethylene foam on Side 1 (offered in 1/8" and 3/16" thicknesses) and a static-cling polyvinyl chloride (PVC) foam on Side 2. The PVC foam adheres to non-porous surfaces such as glass and mirror without any adhesive — providing residue-free, removable, and repositionable protection. The denser 4 PCF PE foam delivers higher tensile strength (159.9 psi), elongation (317.2%), and tear strength (18.7 lb/in MD) than the 2# variant, with lower compression set at 50% deflection (15.9%).
Key Properties
- Side 1 Material: 4 PCF Crosslinked Polyethylene Foam (1/8" or 3/16" thick)
- Side 2 Material: PVC Foam (static-cling, adhesive-free)
- PVC Foam Cling Adhesion (Cork & Stainless Steel): 12 oz/in minimum
- PE Foam Tensile Strength (MD): 159.9 psi (ASTM D3575)
- PE Foam Elongation (MD): 317.2% (ASTM D3575)
- PE Foam Tear Strength (MD): 18.7 lb/in (ASTM D3575)
