Crosslinked Polyethylene Foam

Crosslinked Foam short description

Crosslinked polyethylene foam is the material of choice when glazing, mounting, and protective packaging applications require a fine-cell, dimensionally stable foam with predictable compression performance and low water absorption. Its crosslinked PE chemistry delivers consistent density and thickness tolerance that non-crosslinked foams cannot maintain, making it the standard substrate for glazing tape systems, panel mounting, and precision die-cut protective packaging. H-O Products carries the full range of crosslinked polyethylene foam families, from ClipFoam™ sheet stock and BGT glazing tape to H-O Mount double-coated mounting tape, Xolefin ZXET, and EPE expanded polyethylene, and converts them to customer specification.

12# ClipFoam™

12# ClipFoam™ is a high-performing double-sided mounting tape with a very high bond LSE-type acrylic permanent adhesive (I626) on a crosslinked polyethylene foam/EVA and PET laminate carrier, available in a single thickness of 3/32". Adhesion to steel is 86 oz/in (air side) and 94 oz/in (liner side) per PSTC-101 MOD, with a service temperature range of -30°F to 220°F. The foam and PET laminate construction reduces foam stretching and supports bonding to extrusion substrates at relatively high processing speeds.
