Solid PVC is the material of choice when a rigid, dimensionally stable sheet material with a built-in plasticizer migration barrier is required for flooring underlays or industrial applications adjacent to plasticizer-sensitive substrates. Its 80-durometer formulation with integral block film prevents plasticizer migration that would otherwise degrade adhesive bonds or contaminate adjacent materials in installation assemblies. 80 Durometer Solid PVC with Plasticizer Block Film 1/16” is a 1/16" solid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sheet mechanically bonded to a .0005" polymeric film barrier on one side, with a permanent single-sided acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive (.003" thick) protected by a 78# clay coated liner. The plasticizer block film eliminates plasticizer migration to maintain long-term adhesive bond integrity to many substrate types. Peel adhesion is 100 oz./inch and shear strength exceeds 100+ hours (1" x 1" x 1,000G). The solid vinyl service temperature range is -20°F to 200°F; the acrylic adhesive service temperature range is -30°F to 220°F.
