Your Expert Precision Gasket Company: New Investments in Laser Cutting Technology
By the H-O Products applications engineering team · Updated February 2025 · ~4 min read

H-O Products has invested in new laser cutting technology, expanding our capability to engineer and manufacture precision gaskets and custom engineered tapes, pads, and components. Our inventiveness, expertise, and ability to harness new technology is what sets us apart.
What laser cutting adds to gasket production
1. Tailored solutions for customized gaskets and components
- Fine tolerances: laser cutting achieves tight tolerances for optimal sealing performance
- Complex geometries: intricate shapes that are difficult or impossible with traditional steel-rule tooling
- Material variety: processes rubber, acrylic foam, cork, films, and foams from 1/64" up to 5" thickness
2. Rapid prototyping that accelerates time to market
- Reduced tooling wait: prototypes cut directly from CAD, no die required
- Iterative design: 100% prototype testing with quick turnaround on modifications
- Accurate representation: laser-cut prototypes closely match final production parts
3. A precision advantage in production
- Minimal waste: direct cutting reduces material waste and cost
- Automation: automated processing shortens production times
- Precision: cuts that conventional tooling cannot reproduce
What this means for your parts
The new laser equipment lets us produce intricate micro-gaskets for medical devices, process difficult materials with improved tolerances, meet strict compliance requirements with repeatable accuracy, and compress prototype cycles.
Industries served
H-O Products serves more than 40 industries, including acoustics, curtain wall cladding, energy, construction, HVAC, and window and door applications — providing sealing, noise reduction, energy efficiency, and product reliability improvements.
About H-O Products

Have a part that needs laser precision?
Send the geometry and material. Engineering will confirm whether laser, die, water jet, or knife cutting fits best, and cut prototypes directly from your CAD.
Samples typically ship in 3 to 5 business days for common die-cut configurations; standard production runs about two weeks; special orders are quoted to the job.
Family-owned in Winsted, Connecticut since 1971 · ISO 9001:2015 certified · OEMs worldwide send us a drawing — and get back their part.
Frequently asked questions
What materials can the laser process?
Rubber, acrylic foam, cork, films, and foams from 1/64 inch up to 5 inches thick. For materials outside that window, die, water jet, or digital knife cutting usually covers it.
Do I need tooling for a prototype?
No — laser prototypes cut directly from CAD with no die, which shortens the first-article cycle and makes design iterations inexpensive.
