Common industries: Electronics, telecommunications, defense, industrial equipment, thermal management systems.
2476-65 DARK BLUE is a 65 Shore A silver-plated aluminum filled silicone shielding elastomer distinguished by its use of large particle-size filler and its exceptionally high thermal conductivity of 1.9 W/m·K. This combination of electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity makes it well suited for applications requiring simultaneous EMI shielding and heat transfer through the gasket interface.
It is supplied in three forms — fully cured electrically conductive sheet stock, continuous extrusion profiles, and ready-to-mold compound — providing broad fabrication flexibility. Data was generated with the Varox catalyst system per the ASTM methods listed.
The material achieves a volume resistivity of 0.0009 ohm/cm against a specification maximum of 0.008 ohm/cm (ASTM D991), a Tear “B” of 37 ppi, and a specific gravity of 2.02. Tensile strength is 150 psi and elongation is 350%. Raw material is available catalyzed and ready for press cure molding. Uncatalyzed shelf life is indefinite (may need freshening after 1–2 years); catalyzed shelf life is 6 months. Cold storage will extend shelf life.
What differentiates 2476-65 from the 502-series and 2368?
2476-65 DARK BLUE uses large particle-size silver-plated aluminum filler — distinct from the nickel-coated graphite of the 502-series and the standard silver-plated aluminum of 2368. Its defining differentiator is thermal conductivity of 1.9 W/m·K, which is not reported for 502-65 or 2368 and far exceeds the 0.75 W/m·K of 502-40. Volume resistivity of 0.0009 ohm/cm is the lowest in the group, well within the 0.008 max specification. It is the only grade in this group also supplied as continuous extrusion profiles.
Why is compression set critical for this material?
As a conductive elastomeric shielding gasket material, 2476-65 must maintain intimate contact with mating surfaces to sustain the required volume resistivity of 0.0009 ohm/cm and simultaneous thermal conductivity of 1.9 W/m·K throughout service. Compression set resistance ensures the gasket retains its cross-section under sustained closure load, preserving both the electrical and thermal interface performance. No compression set value is listed on the TDS for this grade.
What is the thermal stability range for 2476-65?
The thermal stability range for 2476-65 is -60°C to 220°C as listed on the TDS.
Is 2476-65 suitable for regulated or military environments?
No compliance standards or military specifications are listed on the manufacturer's TDS for this material.
How should 2476-65 be specified?
Specify grade (2476-65 DARK BLUE), supply form (sheet stock, extrusion profile, or compound), thickness, compliance requirements, dimensional tolerances, and finished format.
