It is rated for service from -183°C to 105°C (-297°F to 220°F) and provides a declared thermal conductivity (λd) of ≤0.036 W/(m·K) at 75°F, with the laminated jacket achieving a water vapor diffusion resistance factor of 0.00. ArmaTuff is available with or without a factory-applied pressure sensitive adhesive backing, in sheet and roll form, for exterior applications such as rooftop ducts.

ArmaTuff is a variant of Armacell’s ArmaFlex flexible elastomeric closed-cell foam insulation, factory-laminated with a white 17.5 mils covering, positioned as an exterior insulation solution for outdoor applications such as rooftop ductwork. Its primary advantage is combining the thermal and vapor-retarding performance of ArmaFlex foam with a durable, low-maintenance cladding that is designed to eliminate the need for separate metal jacketing or field painting on outdoor installations.
The product is supplied in sheet form (36″ x 48″ / 0.915m x 1.22m) in 1″, 1-1/2″, and 2″ nominal thicknesses (25, 38, and 50mm), and in roll form (48″ / 1.22m width) at matching thicknesses, available with or without a factory-applied pressure sensitive adhesive backing for field installation. A dedicated ArmaTuff Seam Tape is offered for finishing seams. The foam core meets ASTM C534 Type II, Grade 1, and the laminate cladding carries a water vapor diffusion resistance factor of 0.00, while the foam itself measures 0.05 perm-inch per ASTM E96, Procedure A. UV resistance and weather resistance are both rated excellent, and the material exhibits excellent chemical resistance and durability, along with low water absorption of 0.2% by volume.
