H-O Mount 1/16”
Double-Sided Rubber Adhesive Mounting Tape on Crosslinked Polyethylene Foam — 1/16″
H-O Mount 1016 is a closed cell, crosslinked polyethylene foam coated on both sides with a high performance rubber-based permanent adhesive and a white kraft liner, available in a single thickness of 1/16″. Peel adhesion is 135 oz/in per PSTC-101 (foam destruction) with a maximum continuous use temperature of 155°F. The tape features high immediate bond, great chemical resistance, and better conformability, suited to mounting, plastic extrusion, signage, wire raceway, and cushioning applications.

- Mounting of signage, point of purchase displays, and decorative hardware components requiring the highest peel adhesion in the H-O Mount series
- Plastic extrusion bonding and wire raceway and trim attachment in building and consumer product assemblies
- Mirror, medallion, and trophy component mounting where high immediate bond and a mid-profile tape thickness are specified
- Cushioning and vibration damping in assemblies requiring better conformability than a thinner tape can provide
- Fastener replacement in consumer hardware, appliances, and light industrial assemblies where a 1/16″ tape profile is appropriate
Common industries: signage, consumer goods, construction, retail displays, hardware, light industrial.
H-O Mount 1/16” is the mid-thickness grade in H-O Products’ H-O Mount double-sided mounting tape series, with a crosslinked polyethylene foam carrier at 1/16″ total thickness.
It is designed for a broad range of mounting, plastic extrusion bonding, signage, wire raceway, wire mount and trim, and cushioning and vibration damping applications, as well as general mounting of mirrors, hardware components, point of purchase displays, and consumer accessories, and for replacing fasteners across many applications.
The tape delivers high immediate bond with the highest peel adhesion in the series at 135 oz/in (foam destruction) and a tack of 34 oz per ASTM D2979.
Tensile strength is 114 lb/in and elongation is 269%, both per PSTC-131. The tape features better conformability, low compression set, great chemical resistance, and is easily die-cut. The minimum application temperature is 50°F.
Maximum continuous use temperature is 155°F and maximum short term exposure is 203°F — these limits are governed by the polyolefin foam substrate; the pressure sensitive adhesive will perform at temperatures higher than those listed. Tack values may not reflect the exact tack of the adhesive as the foam can tear during tack testing.
What differentiates the H-O Mount 1/16” from the thinner 1/32” and thicker ⅛” grades?
The H-O Mount 1/16” delivers the highest peel adhesion in the series at 135 oz/in (foam destruction) — above the 1/32”'s 125 oz/in and the ⅛”'s 95 oz/in. It also offers the broadest application scope in the series, including plastic extrusion, signage, wire raceways, and wire mounts and trim that are not listed for the 1008. It is rated for better conformability, compared to good conformability for the 1/32” and best conformability for the ⅛”.
Why is peel adhesion important for a double-sided mounting tape?
Peel adhesion determines the force required to separate the tape bond from the substrate, governing whether the tape will maintain a durable, lasting mount under mechanical stress, vibration, and temperature cycling. The H-O Mount 1016 achieves 135 oz/in per PSTC-101, measured to foam destruction — meaning the foam carrier fails before the adhesive bond releases — and this is the highest peel adhesion value in the H-O Mount series.
What is the service temperature range for the H-O Mount 1/16”?
The H-O Mount 1/16” has a minimum application temperature of 50°F, a maximum continuous use temperature of 155°F, and a maximum short term exposure of 203°F. Per the TDS, these temperature limits are governed by the polyolefin foam substrate — the pressure sensitive adhesive will perform at higher temperatures.
Is the H-O Mount 1/16” suitable for regulated environments?
No compliance standards are specified on the manufacturer's TDS for this material. Suitability for any regulated environment should be evaluated based on application-specific requirements and independent testing.
How should the H-O Mount 1/16” be specified?
Specify grade (H-O Mount 1/16”), thickness (1/16"), color (Black or White), liner (White kraft liner), compliance requirements if applicable, dimensional tolerances, and finished format.
