H-O Mount 1/32”
Double-Sided Rubber Adhesive Mounting Tape on Crosslinked Polyethylene Foam — 1/32″
H-O Mount 1/32” is a closed cell, crosslinked polyethylene foam coated on both sides with a high performance rubber-based permanent adhesive and a white kraft liner, available in a single thickness of 1/32″. Peel adhesion is 125 oz/in per PSTC-101 (foam destruction) with a maximum continuous use temperature of 155°F. The tape features high immediate bond, great chemical resistance, and good conformability, suited to mounting, plastic extrusion, signage, wire raceway, and cushioning applications.

- Thin-profile mounting of signage, point of purchase displays, and decorative hardware components where a low-profile double-sided rubber adhesive tape is required
- Plastic extrusion bonding and wire raceway and trim attachment in building and consumer product assemblies
- Mirror and medallion mounting in consumer, retail, and trophy fabrication applications where high immediate bond and a thin tape profile are specified
- Cushioning and vibration damping in assemblies where minimal added thickness is required
- Fastener replacement applications in consumer hardware, appliances, and light industrial assemblies
Common industries: signage, consumer goods, construction, retail displays, hardware, light industrial.
H-O Mount 1/32” is the thinnest grade in H-O Products’ H-O Mount double-sided mounting tape series, with a crosslinked polyethylene foam carrier at 1/32″ total thickness.
It is designed for mounting, plastic extrusion bonding, signage, wire raceways, wire mounts and trim, cushioning, and vibration damping, as well as general mounting of mirrors, hardware components, point of purchase displays, and consumer accessories, and for replacing fasteners in a broad range of applications. The tape provides high immediate bond with a peel adhesion of 125 oz/in (foam destruction) and a tack of 34 oz per ASTM D2979.
Tensile strength is 107 lb/in and elongation is 355%, both per PSTC-131. The tape is characterized by good conformability, low compression set, great chemical resistance, and is easily die-cut. The minimum application temperature is 50°F.
Maximum continuous use temperature is 155°F and maximum short term exposure is 203°F — these limits are governed by the polyolefin foam substrate; the pressure sensitive adhesive used in this construction will perform at temperatures higher than those listed. Tack values may not reflect the exact tack of the adhesive as the foam can tear during tack testing.
What differentiates the H-O Mount 1/32” from the thicker 1/16” and ⅛” grades?
The H-O Mount 1/32” is the thinnest grade in the series at 1/32", with a peel adhesion of 125 oz/in — lower than the 1/16”'s 135 oz/in but achieved at the lowest available tape profile. Its elongation of 355% is the highest in the series. It is rated for good conformability, compared to better conformability for the 1/16” and best conformability for the ⅛”, and is the correct selection when a thin, low-profile mounting tape is required.
Why is peel adhesion important for a double-sided mounting tape?
Peel adhesion determines the force required to separate the tape bond from the substrate, which governs whether the tape will maintain a durable, lasting mount under mechanical stress, vibration, and temperature cycling. The H-O Mount 1/32” achieves 125 oz/in per PSTC-101, measured to foam destruction — meaning the foam carrier fails before the adhesive bond releases — confirming that the adhesive bond strength exceeds the cohesive strength of the foam at this thickness.
What is the service temperature range for the H-O Mount 1/32”?
The H-O Mount 1/32” has a minimum application temperature of 50°F, a maximum continuous use temperature of 155°F, and a maximum short term exposure of 203°F. Per the TDS, these temperature limits are governed by the polyolefin foam substrate — the pressure sensitive adhesive will perform at higher temperatures.
Is the H-O Mount 1/32” suitable for regulated environments?
No compliance standards are specified on the manufacturer's TDS for this material. Suitability for any regulated environment should be evaluated based on application-specific requirements and independent testing.
How should the H-O Mount 1/32” be specified?
Specify grade (H-O Mount 1/32”), thickness (1/32"), color (Black or White), liner (White kraft liner), compliance requirements if applicable, dimensional tolerances, and finished format.
