HyPUR-cel® I3065L
HyPUR-cel® I3065L is an open cell polyurethane foam with a typical density of 30 pcf (26–34 pcf tolerance) and a 25% Compression Deflection of 65 psi (50–80 psi tolerance) per ASTM D1056, making it the firmest grade in the HyPUR-cel® I-series. The “L” designation identifies a low-resiliency, energy-absorbing formulation (16% resilience per ASTM D2632) with fast recovery and low hysteresis loss. The material operates across a service temperature range of -40°F to 250°F and combines high tensile strength (360 psi) and tear strength (34 lb./in) with excellent high-temperature compression set, superb compression fatigue properties, and dimensional stability. Properties are published by Rubberlite as provisional typical values.

HyPUR-cel® I3065L is the firmest grade in the HyPUR-cel® I-series, pairing a 30 pcf density with a 25% Compression Deflection of 65 psi. It is designed for applications that need a firm, supportive open cell foam that absorbs energy rather than returning it: the “L” suffix identifies a low-resiliency formulation (16% resilience per ASTM D2632) engineered for fast recovery and low hysteresis loss, compared with roughly 26% resilience for standard I-series grades such as I2560.
The foam offers excellent high-temperature compression set (0.5% per ASTM D1056, 1% per ASTM D3574), superb compression fatigue properties and dimensional stability, so it maintains thickness and load-bearing performance through repeated deflection cycles. With 360 psi tensile strength, 160% elongation and 34 lb./in tear strength it converts cleanly by die-cutting and accepts adhesive laminations, fabrics, films and custom coatings. Because every I-series grade is built on the same polyurethane platform, a design can move up or down in density or firmness within the series without requalifying a new chemistry.
Rubberlite publishes I3065L as provisional typical properties (issue date 11/6/24). No flammability rating or compliance standards are listed on the current sheet; contact H-O for the latest data or application-specific testing.
What differentiates I3065L from I3050L and I2560 within the HyPUR-cel® I-series?
I3065L is the firmest grade in the I-series at 65 psi Compression Deflection (25%) and 30 pcf density. I3050L shares the 30 pcf density but is softer at 50 psi, while I2560 delivers 60 psi at 25 pcf with standard (26%) resilience. I3065L is specified when the highest support and load-bearing capacity is needed together with energy absorption.
What does the "L" in I3065L mean?
Per Rubberlite's naming convention, the first two digits are density (30 pcf) and the last two are 25% compression deflection (65 psi). The "L" identifies a low-resiliency, energy-absorbing product: I3065L has 16% resilience per ASTM D2632, so it dissipates impact and vibration energy with fast recovery and low hysteresis loss rather than rebounding like a standard I-series grade.
What is the service temperature range for I3065L?
I3065L is rated for continuous service from -40°F to 250°F as listed on the Rubberlite property sheet.
Is I3065L rated for flammability or other compliance standards?
No flammability rating or compliance standards are listed on the manufacturer's current provisional property sheet for I3065L. Flame retardant and anti-microbial additives are available depending upon volume, and H-O can arrange application-specific testing.
How should I3065L be specified?
Specify grade (I3065L), thickness, dimensional tolerances, finished format (roll, sheet or die-cut part), and any adhesive, film or fabric lamination. Note that the published properties are provisional typical values and should be confirmed with samples for critical applications.
