HyPUR-cel® R2580T is the firmest grade in the HyPUR-cel® R-series, with a 25% Compression Deflection of 60–100 psi at 21–30 pcf density. The R-series is engineered with an elastomeric cell structure rather than relying on pneumatic rebound for resiliency, so it maintains cellular and dimensional integrity through more than one million cycles at 50% compression while delivering 49% resilience per ASTM D2632.
R2580T pairs that energy return with high tensile strength (360 psi), a minimum tear strength of 62 lb./in and 260% elongation, giving it the toughness for high-load dynamic sealing, footwear and sporting goods components, and repeated-deflection bumpers and stops. A compression set of 2.5% per ASTM D1056, excellent stress relaxation resistance and low hysteresis loss keep contact pressure and rebound consistent over the product’s service life. The foam accepts adhesives, laminated fabrics, films, custom coatings and composites, and is supplied in 48″ wide rolls skived to custom thicknesses.
Rubberlite publishes R2580T as provisional typical properties (issue date 5/12/23), with density and compression deflection stated as ranges. No flammability rating or compliance standards are listed on the current sheet; contact H-O for the latest data or application-specific testing.
What differentiates R2580T from R2560T and R2015 within the HyPUR-cel® R-series?
R2580T is the firmest R-series grade, with a 25% Compression Deflection of 60–100 psi at 21–30 pcf density, compared with R2560T at 60 psi / 25 pcf and R2015 at 15 psi / 20 pcf. It is specified when a dynamic application needs the highest load capacity in the series along with the R-series energy return, low hysteresis loss and stress relaxation resistance.
Why is resilience important for R2580T in dynamic applications?
Resilience measures how efficiently a foam returns energy after deflection. R2580T achieves 49% resilience per ASTM D2632, and because the R-series uses an elastomeric cell structure rather than pneumatic rebound, it holds that response through repeated cyclic compression (1M+ cycles at 50% compression). That translates to consistent force recovery in sealing, footwear, sporting goods and bumper applications.
What is the service temperature range for R2580T?
R2580T is rated for continuous service from -40°F to 250°F as listed on the Rubberlite property sheet.
Is R2580T rated for flammability or other compliance standards?
No flammability rating or compliance standards are listed on the manufacturer's current provisional property sheet for R2580T. Flame retardant and anti-microbial additives are available depending on volume, and H-O can arrange application-specific testing.
How should R2580T be specified?
Specify grade (R2580T), thickness, dimensional tolerances, finished format (roll, sheet or die-cut part), and any adhesive, film or fabric lamination. Because density and compression deflection are published as ranges on a provisional sheet, confirm target firmness with samples for critical applications.
