kSil® GP200
kSil® GP200 is a closed cell, lightweight silicone sponge with a density of 180 kg/m³ and a compression force deflection of 21 kPa, the lowest in the kSil® GP cellular sponge range. It is rated for service from -60°C to +230°C and exhibits water absorption of less than 5%. The material is available in thicknesses from 1.5 mm to 30 mm and is approved for aerospace, automotive, and water contact applications.

kSil® GP200 is the lowest-density grade in the kSil® GP general purpose cellular silicone sponge range. Its closed cell construction at 180 kg/m³ provides a lightweight, compressible sponge material formulated for extreme temperature applications and environments requiring resistance to moisture and environmental ingress. The grade is well suited to die-cut gaskets and flexible sealing solutions where low compression force is advantageous.
The GP200 exhibits a tensile strength of 600 kPa, 140% elongation, and a compression set of 20%, all tested per ASTM methods. Water absorption is less than 5%, consistent with its closed cell structure. Recommended application temperatures range from 150°C to 300°C, with application pressures from 0 MPa to 5 MPa and a service life pressure range of 0 MPa to 10 MPa.
The material did not pass UL94 V-0, FAR 25.853 horizontal flame resistance at 12 or 60 seconds, or SMP-800C toxic gas emissions testing — these results are recorded on the TDS and should be evaluated against application flame performance requirements.
