kSil™ KSV002 is a soft-grade closed-cell silicone sponge in the kSil™ V-0 series at 13.7 lbs/ft³. The smooth-skin construction provides sealing capability to IP67. Available in seven thicknesses from 1/8″ to 1″ — including 1/8″ and 3/16″ not available in the super soft KSV001 — it is suited to environmental sealing, gasketing, and cushioning in rail, aerospace, automotive, marine, military, electronics, HVAC, and lighting applications.

KSV002 is a soft grade at 13.7 lbs/ft³ and 4.1 psi at 25% strain — denser and firmer than KSV001 (10.0 lbs/ft³, 2.8 psi) but softer than KSV003 (19.4 lbs/ft³, 5.8 psi). It achieves the highest elongation to failure in the series at 130%. It is the first grade in the series available in 1/8" and 3/16" thicknesses (seven gauges total), and its EN45545-2 classification covers R22 and R23 at HL3 — a narrower coverage than KSV001 and KSV003, which carry additional R-classifications. Why is compression set critical for a soft flame resistant silicone sponge?
