ManniGlas® 1900 is a white, non-respirable glass fiber paper within the ManniGlas® product family, engineered for thermal gasket, sealing, and insulation applications where high-temperature performance and space efficiency are required. It is available in four gauges — 1/32″, 1/16″, 1/8″, and 1/4″ — with a highly uniform surface and excellent thickness control across all gauges, making it well suited for precision die-cutting of intricate shapes.
The material is formulated with non-formaldehyde-based binders and exhibits outstanding dimensional stability combined with flexibility, strength, and excellent compression resistance.
Thermal conductivity ranges from 0.23 BTU in/hr ft²°F at a mean temperature of 75°F to 0.98 BTU in/hr ft²°F at 1100°F per ASTM C177 (tested at 0.125″ thickness), confirming consistent insulating performance across the full operating range. LOI is 6% by weight, satisfying low smoke and odor requirements. The product is manufactured under ISO-9001:2008 certification. Compliant with UL 94V-0 (excluding certain specialty grades), ROHS, and REACH. Note: REACH compliance reflects that this product is an article and is not subject to registration.
What differentiates ManniGlas® 1900 from ManniGlas® 1902?
ManniGlas® 1900 and 1902 share identical physical, mechanical, and thermal property data across all gauges. The sole differentiator stated on the respective TDS documents is color — ManniGlas® 1900 is White and ManniGlas® 1902 is Black. Grade selection between the two is driven by application color requirements or visual identification needs.
Why is hardness or compressibility important for this material?
ManniGlas® 1900 is a glass fiber paper used in gasket and sealing applications where compression resistance determines whether the material maintains its thickness and sealing integrity under bolt load or mechanical clamping force. The TDS reports excellent compression resistance as a key product feature, and density post-compression values are provided by gauge (7 to 11.5 lb/ft³) to characterize the material's behavior under the specified measurement gauge pressures.
What is the operating temperature range for ManniGlas® 1900?
ManniGlas® 1900 withstands continuous operating temperatures up to 1100°F, with excursion capability to 1200°F, as stated on the TDS.
Is ManniGlas® 1900 suitable for flame-rated environments?
Yes. ManniGlas® 1900 passes UL 94V-0 for non-flammability, excluding certain specialty grades, and has a LOI of 6% by weight satisfying low smoke and odor requirements. It is also ROHS and REACH compliant.
How should ManniGlas® 1900 be specified?
Specify grade (ManniGlas® 1900), thickness, color (White), compliance requirements, dimensional tolerances, and finished format.
