SSP2390-10D is a translucent platinum-cured silicone elastomer manufactured by Specialty Silicone Products, Inc. (SSP), supplied platinum pre-catalyzed and ready for immediate use. The 10D grade is the softest in the SSP2390 Series with a Shore A durometer of 11, positioning it for applications requiring maximum conformability — soft seals, low-pressure gaskets, cushioning components, and surface-conforming interfaces where higher durometer grades would not adequately fill irregular geometries.
Mechanical properties reflect the soft formulation: tensile strength of 370 psi is the lowest in the series (rising progressively to 1,510 psi on the 50D grade), but elongation of 990% is the highest in the series — supporting extreme deformation without rupture. Tear strength (Die B) is 90 ppi, also the lowest in the series. Specific gravity of 1.08 reflects the lightest filler loading among the eight grades.
Available as a ready-to-mold compound or as compression-molded sheet stock or roll stock, in a translucent base or red, black, gray, and white standard colors. Custom Pantone matching is available with the caveat that pigments require separate USP Class VI testing per color by the end user. Cure profile is 10 minutes at 177°C (350°F) compression cure.
