SSP2390-20D is a translucent platinum-cured silicone elastomer manufactured by Specialty Silicone Products, Inc. (SSP), supplied platinum pre-catalyzed and ready for immediate use. The 20D grade is a soft elastomer in the SSP2390 Series with a Shore A durometer of 21, positioning it for applications requiring high conformability with slightly more dimensional stability than the very soft 10D grade.
Tensile strength of 640 psi and elongation of 910% support deformation-tolerant sealing and cushioning applications, while tear strength (Die B) of 135 ppi is meaningfully higher than the 90 ppi of the 10D grade.
Available as a ready-to-mold compound or as compression-molded sheet stock or roll stock, in a translucent base or red, black, gray, and white standard colors. Custom Pantone matching is available with the caveat that pigments require separate USP Class VI testing per color by the end user. Cure profile is 10 minutes at 177°C (350°F) compression cure.
