Product Overview

60 Durometer Industrial Grade Solid Neoprene — Technical Overview & FAQs

Product Overview

The 60 durometer industrial-grade solid neoprene (polychloroprene / CR) sheet rubber is a medium-hard elastomer designed for dependable sealing, gasketing, and impact isolation in rugged industrial and mechanical environments.
It balances hardness and resilience to deliver excellent compression-set resistance, ozone / weather stability, and moderate oil and chemical resistance.
This formulation performs well in both indoor and outdoor service, providing long-term reliability for equipment gaskets, bumpers, and vibration-control pads.

Applications

Heavy-duty gaskets and flange seals
Vibration and impact isolation pads
Spacers and washers for mechanical assemblies
Cabinet, door, and enclosure seals
Weather-resistant mounting and buffer strips

What is 60 Durometer Industrial Grade Solid Neoprene used for?
This medium-hard neoprene sheet rubber is used for industrial gaskets, vibration pads, and isolation components requiring durability and environmental resistance.

How firm is 60 durometer neoprene compared to other grades?
At 60 Shore A, it is firmer than 50 durometer versions, offering better load support and dimensional stability while remaining flexible enough to seal uneven surfaces.

What temperature range can it withstand?
It performs reliably from –20 °F to +220 °F (–29 °C to 104 °C), retaining elasticity and mechanical properties under repeated thermal cycling.

Is this neoprene suitable for outdoor or chemical exposure?
Yes — it resists ozone, UV, and weathering, and provides moderate resistance to petroleum-based oils, lubricants, and mild chemicals.

Can this material be custom fabricated or adhesive-backed?
Yes — it’s offered in sheets, rolls, and die-cut formats, with optional acrylic or rubber PSA backing for peel-and-stick installation.
