- 1971H.G. Olson opens the doors
Founded at 10 Bridge Street, Winsted, CT, serving the window & door industry with tapes, pads and die-cutting.
- 1989The second generation steps up
Chris Olson becomes VP. The shop expands into general construction, industrial HVAC and packaging — and begins producing specialty gaskets.
- 1990Passing the torch
H.G. Olson passes in April. The family carries the business forward.
- 1993A permanent home
H-O purchases 12 Munro Street — still home today — giving the shop room for bigger presses and bigger jobs.
- 1995New industries, harder parts
Industrial & electromechanical, acoustics, curtainwall and cladding join the customer list.
- 2003The lean turn
H-O adopts the Kaizen / Lean Manufacturing approach — process mapping, cross-training and machinery upgrades that still drive year-over-year quality gains.
