Product Overview

BF-1000 Closed-Cell Silicone Foam — Technical Overview & FAQs

What is BF-1000?

BF-1000 is an extra-soft, closed-cell silicone foam engineered for low-pressure sealing, vibration damping, and long-term environmental protection in extreme temperatures ranging from -67 °F to 392 °F.

Where is BF-1000 typically used?

Environmental gaskets in lighting, HVAC, and outdoor enclosures
Thermal and vibration insulation in transportation and power systems
Flame-resistant sealing for aerospace and defense equipment

What makes BF-1000 different?

Ultra-low compression force deflection (~ 2.4 psi @ 25 %)
Excellent UV, ozone, and weather resistance
UL 94 V-0 / HF-1 and FMVSS-302 flame ratings
Low compression set (~ 1.7 %) for long-term sealing reliability

Is BF-1000 safe for food or medical use?

Yes — it meets FDA CFR 177.2600 for indirect food contact. For patient-contact or implantable use, confirm ISO 10993 biocompatibility requirements.

Can BF-1000 include adhesive backing?

Yes. It can be supplied with silicone or acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives for permanent or removable gasketing.
