SCE43B Neoprene Foam Gaskets — Technical Overview & FAQs
What is SCE43B?
SCE43B is a medium-density closed-cell neoprene/EPDM/SBR foam. It combines the durability of three elastomer chemistries to deliver a reliable gasket and seal material for weather-proofing, vibration and sound reduction, and industrial gasketing.
Where is SCE43B typically used?
Reducing vibration and sound transmission through wall assemblies.
Weather-proofing skylights, doors, windows, hatches and other construction joints.
Gasketing for industrial enclosures, clean-rooms, signage, and outdoor environments.
What makes SCE43B different?
Closed-cell structure with water absorption max of 5 % ensures durability in moisture-exposed areas.
Compression deflection at 25% of 9-13 psi (ASTM D1056) and density of 7-11 lb/ft³ for stable medium-firm resilience.
Electronic environment-friendly: Passes FMVSS-302 (≥0.098″), UL 94 HF-1 listed, service temperature –40 °F to +200 °F (intermittent to +250 °F).
Available in a wide range of thicknesses from 1/16″ to 1″ for flexible design options.
How does SCE43B perform over time and in harsh conditions?
After aging, SCE43B maintains its compression deflection within ±30 % and retains its structural integrity under temperature cycling, ozone and UV exposure.
Can SCE43B be customized with adhesive backing or die-cut formats?
Yes. It can be supplied as sheet, roll or die-cut parts, with or without adhesive backing (PSA options) for rapid installation and custom gasket fabrication.
