Product Overview

Polyimide Foam with Rubber Adhesive — Technical Overview & FAQs

What is Polyimide Foam with Rubber Adhesive?

This product pairs a lightweight, non-wicking polyimide foam core with a rubber pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing. It delivers the insulation and acoustic performance of polyimide foam while allowing permanent bonding to metals, plastics, and composite substrates.

Where is this adhesive-backed foam used?

In aerospace and high-temperature equipment assemblies where insulation must be directly bonded.
Thermal/acoustic insulation in ovens, vent systems, or ducts that require adhesive mounting.
Applications where installation efficiency matters and adhesives reduce fastener or sealant use.

What makes this variant different?

Combines polyimide foam’s fire-, smoke- and toxicity-safe insulation with a robust rubber adhesive.
Maintains foam performance while simplifying installation and bonding.
Suitable for demanding environmental conditions (heat, humidity, cycling).

What’s the advantage of the rubber adhesive?

The rubber PSA provides excellent “quick-stick” and shear resistance for tough substrates, helping the product perform reliably under bonding, vibration, and thermal-cycling stress.
